Sunset

Sunset is a part of series of old paintings that I decided to redraw. When I drew the original pieces, they were the peak of my artistic prowess at the time. Therefore, I come back to these paintings and redraw them as a way for me to keep track of my skills; to always see where I’m peaking.

Sunset deals with the emotional aspect of my pieces. When I draw with elaborate backgrounds, I like for the background to be the focal point of the peace rather than the person. This way, whenever viewers look at it at a glance, they’re immediately struck by the big picture, and want to look back at it again.

Wanted to play with composition and palettes more so I tried going for a more tunnel vision theme with pinks and purples for a nice sunset scene.

Decided to redraw the painting because I just started getting into light and colors.
